Resaw Capacity & Frame Rigidity

Tensioning Wide Blades

Slicing veneers from thick stock requires a wide, aggressively toothed blade (typically 1-inch or larger with 3 TPI). To prevent barrel-cutting and blade deflection, the blade must be tensioned intensely. Industrial band saws feature heavy cast-iron or thick-welded steel spines capable of applying 20,000+ PSI of tension without frame deflection.

Guide Systems

Controlling the Cut

Proper blade guidance is critical. Euro-style roller bearing guides provide low friction and high support, trapping the blade between spinning bearings. Alternatively, ceramic block guides offer immense stability for wide blades, running directly against the blade body to scrape away pitch and prevent twisting during deep cuts.
